Logo design for Adelaide Home Builder
Broaden Building & Carpentry
Brief
The objective of this project was to create a new brand identity for an existing building service. We conducted a review of the existing brand assets and developed a brand strategy for expanding the carpentry-focused trade into a new home builder.
Research
The current identity consisted of an acronym (which was very different to the actual business name) and a conventional roof shape as a logo. We needed to develop a modern and consistent brand identity that would appeal to home owners in Adelaide’s prestigious Eastern suburbs.
Inspiration came from renowned Italian architect Architect Carlo Scarpa (1906–1978). Carlo was able to build with an incredible level of attention to detail by having a large role in both the design and building process. He would keep a close eye on workmanship to ensure the quality of the finished product was of the highest standard. This had a direct connection to the values our client wanted to instill in his own business.
Solution
Our custom made logotype references Scarpa’s architectural works and portrays an elegant, unique identity system that will attract an upmarket, quality savvy audience. The end result is a unique, memorable and timeless identity system that will assist in building brand equity over many years.
