Poster design for Adelaide Hills Quiz Night

Brief
Eventing SA approached Flux to design a poster for their Quiz Night, which was to be held in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Echunga.
Research
Eventing SA is an organisation run by the Eventing Committee of Equestrian SA. So our research focused on the theme that most participants have in common, Equestrian sports. We also researched objects and images relating to the idea of a quizzes and then attempted to combine the two themes in an interesting way.
Solution
The curvilinear shape created by the image of a horse jumping over an obstacle reminded us of a simply typographic shape we’d seen while researching quizzes: the question mark. And so we repeated and manipulated the horse jumping shape to resemble a large question mark, and the unexpected combination produced a striking concept for the poster.
